An orientation on food hygiene to hotel owners

September 25, 2010. Biratnagar. An orientation on food hygiene to small and middle level hotel owners has been conducted in Biratnagar. 56 hotels owners were participated in the orientation program. The objective of five hours long orientation program aimed to make participants aware of their personal hygiene, food hygiene and sanitation of kitchen in hotels and restaurants.

In order to prevent diarrhoeal outbreaks in district, District Administration Office Morang, District Public Health Office Morang, Biratnagar Sub-metropolitan have taken this initiative at Biratnagar city.

In an opening session Assistant CDO Surendra Paudel, DPHO Nawaraj Subba, Food Technologist Taranath Niroula and members of Hotel Associations made their remarks on why and how we can improve hotels sanitary condition. Health officers Dashilal Majhi, Nurbu Moktan and Devendra Mishra took part in facilitation of training program. Britain Nepal Medical Trust, Small and Middle Level Hotels Association have contributed in conducting the program.

Dr. Nawa Raj

Dr. Nawa Raj Subba is a public health specialist, researcher, and author with over three decades of experience in healthcare management in Nepal. He has contributed to public health research, operational studies, and intercultural psychology. In addition to his work in health, he has published books and articles on Nepali literature, culture, and music. His contributions have been recognized by civil society, the government of Nepal, and international audiences. Currently, he is engaged in public health and intercultural psychology studies.
